Around the Garden

The landscape around the veggie garden is coming alive as well...

Native/ Pollinator Garden - nicely green after burning off earlier this spring.  In this garden we have purple coneflower, coreopsis, compass plant, blanket flower, yellow coneflower, swamp milkweed, butterfly milkweed, dill, little bluestem, switchgrass, indian grass, big bluestem, sideoats grama, blue grama, hairy grama, blue false indigo

Woodland Garden - hostas, bleeding heart, redbud (seeded), paw paw (Asimina triloba) - shade created by massive Bur Oak trees (Q. macrocarpa).

Blue False Indigo 'Purple Smoke'

Walkers Low Catmint (Nepeta racemosa) - a bee magnet.  Really nice grey-green leaves with purple flowers...low mounding woody perennial, 36" width.

Robin momma with babies in our yew hedge

Henry's Garnet Sweetspire about ready to bloom.
